Creating your ideal 2022

Welcome to 2022! We’re so happy to have you back with us for the new year and can’t wait to continue to help you discover your best self.

Like the past couple of years, thanks to COVID, this one seems to have arrived with a bit of uncertainty. But, that doesn’t mean that we can’t set ourselves up to have the best year possible!

With the experience of living through 2020 and 2021 under our belt, we’ve put together some tips to help you thrive this year, no matter the obstacles that the pandemic throws at us.

 

Plan exercise close to home

With the potential to be confined to our homes and close surrounds, it’s a good idea to think of some ways you might like to exercise that don’t require visiting a public place (gym, rec centre, etc).

A yoga mat, some dumbbells and resistance bands are great essentials to have at home – and are actually quite affordable (check out your local department stores). There are some great at-home workouts online – just search for whatever you’re in the mood for.

A peddle bike is a great way to get outside and get some cardio in a fun way – the whole family will enjoy it too!

 

 

Find your favourite wholefood recipes

It’s a great time to start experimenting with pantry staples and wholefoods. There are some delicious meals you can make with a simple mix of fruit and veg, proteins, spices and other staples.

Set goals and make change

Where are you at on your journey to a healthier lifestyle? Have you undergone bariatric surgery, or are you still thinking about it?

If it’s the latter, why not kickstart your research and get the wheels in motion? While we’re not sure how the year might progress, there’s a lot to consider before you make your decision. Use the next 12 months to really look into bariatric weight loss surgery and even book an appointment to talk to Dr Padovan about your options.

If you’re in your post-op stage, have you been booking and attending your follow-up appointments? Have you struggled with weight gain? This year is also a great time to see Dr Padovan for a check-up, or to discuss your options if you’ve backtracked a little.

Be your best in 2022

While there could be some bumps in the road on 2022 – and safety is, of course, the main priority – there is no reason that you can’t still look after yourself and keep moving forward.
